"more light"
These were the last words of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
More light to illuminate the new or to reduce the shadows that are present - what did the most significant German poet and playwright want to say with these words? We will never be able to solve this puzzle; however, the second interdisciplinary congress Light and the Ageing Society in Bad Tölz, Germany, will shine some more light on the subject of "Humans and Light".
The future-oriented congress can offer some first-class speakers from the fields of science and commerce. 17 talks over two days will illuminate the problem while taking account of the latest methods in measurement and neuroinformatics. Special emphasis will be placed on the aspects of Light and Brain Research, Light & the Living Environment, Light & Mobility and Light & Art.
The complex key issue "Light, Health & Demographic Change" illustrates the necessity of the interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge between science and commerce. The focus is therefore on the influence of light on the well-being of (older) people.
The latest research results and findings from the EU project "Aladin - Ambient Lighting Assistance for an Ageing Population", which started in January 2007, will be presented.
Light is life. "It is not enough to talk about something. You have to speak to the people.", S. J. Lec.
On that note, we look forward to seeing you at the Congress.
