Description
Adaptive lighting can contribute considerably to sound sleep and a regular sleep-wake cycle, which are essential to preserve and enhance people’s comfort and wellbeing
This will assist older adults in living at home autonomously for a longer time and contribute to their quality of life. The ALADIN prototype will revolutionise the permanent lighting industry and comprise the following components:
Both hardware and software applications will be developed to allow easy integration with other ICT building blocks, thus becoming part of a general assistive environment.

The Aladin developer documentation in form of JavaDoc class descriptions is now available. Anyone who want’s to develop an extension for Aladin or trying to adapt the system for their needs will find this an important source of information.
The Aladin system is now integrated with V8Tech’s building automation system MMCore. The highly modular approach of Aladin’s system architecture made it possible to rapidly link it to the MMCore building automation system for accessing connected lights.
Within the MMCore system, a special Aladin node can be configured by drag&drop to link various Aladin lighting-channels to the desired lights in a building. Because many private homes already use the MMCore system, which itself integrates various well known building control systems like EIB or DALI, the Aladin system can now be easily set up in such environments, without any further expenses on the installation part. This is great news and a milestone in getting the Aladin system out into the wild.

The final project reports are now available from the Project Reports section. This also includes a detailed system description which might be interesting for prospective developers.
